At West Lothian Feature Walls Ltd, we prioritize customer satisfaction and aim to provide clear and transparent policies for all our products and services. Below are the terms and conditions, including our refund policy, regarding deposits for media wall installations:
1. Deposit Requirement
A deposit of 50% of the total project cost is required to initiate the process for your media wall installation. This deposit:
- Covers the cost of materials specific to your project.
- Secures your booking for the installation.
2. Cancellation by the Customer
- Refund Eligibility: You may cancel your order before the installation process begins and receive a refund of your deposit, minus:
- Costs incurred for materials already purchased.
- Any work initiated on your behalf.
- Notice Period: Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing (via email or letter) and received at least 1 month prior to the scheduled installation date.
3. Cancellation by West Lothian Feature Walls Ltd
- Company-Initiated Cancellation: If we are unable to fulfill our obligation to install your media wall due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., material unavailability or unforeseen technical difficulties), we will:
- Notify you promptly.
- Work towards a satisfactory resolution, such as rescheduling or offering alternative solutions.
- Refunds: If no alternative resolution is agreed upon, we will refund your deposit, minus costs for non-reusable materials purchased specifically for your project.
4. Refund Process
- Refunds will be issued using the same method as the original payment (e.g., bank transfer or credit card).
5. Non-Refundable Circumstances
- Deposits are non-refundable within 1 month of the scheduled installation date.
- Custom-made or personalized materials purchased specifically for your media wall are non-refundable.
6. Modification of Project
- Design Changes: We may accommodate changes to your media wall design based on the installation stage and at our discretion. Efforts will be made to align these changes with your preferences before proceeding.
- Rescheduling: If the requested changes require rescheduling, works may be delayed. Additional costs will apply for weekend rescheduling or out-of-hours labor and will be communicated prior to confirmation.
- Additional Costs: Changes requested after materials have been purchased or work has commenced may incur extra charges for labor and materials.
7. Electrical Works and Existing Faults
- Upon arrival, our electrician will inspect your existing electrical systems. If faults or issues are identified:
- Work will be paused.
- The electrician will inform you of the issue and provide guidance on required rectifications.
- Additional charges for addressing these faults will be billed separately and are not included in the original quote.
8. Safety During Installation
For the safety of your household, please ensure pets and young children are kept away from the work area during the installation process.
9. Job Sign-Off and Warranty
- Once all work is completed, the customer will be asked to sign off on the job to confirm they are satisfied with the work.
- Final Billing: The final bill will only be issued after the job has been signed off by the customer.
- Warranty: Upon sign-off, a 2-year warranty for the media wall will commence. The warranty covers:
- Structural integrity of the wall.
- Cracks or defects in the wall caused by workmanship.
- Issues related to materials supplied by West Lothian Feature Walls Ltd, excluding natural wear and tear or customer-inflicted damage.
- Exclusions: Electrical items and components are not covered under this warranty, as they are subject to their own separate warranties provided by the electrician or product manufacturer.
- Call-Back Requests Outside Warranty:
- Call-back requests for issues not covered under the warranty will incur a charge of £50 + VAT for addresses within Central Scotland.
- For locations outside Central Scotland, pricing will be provided upon request.
- The cost of any additional work required will be determined on a case-by-case basis. If the required work cannot be completed on the same day, a suitable date and time will be agreed with the customer to return and carry out the necessary work.
10. Payment Terms
- Payment is due by the date specified on the invoice.
- Late payments will incur the following fees:
- A fixed late payment charge of £25 + VAT.
- Additional interest calculated at 5% per month on the outstanding balance until the payment is received in full.
- If payment remains outstanding beyond 30 days, the account may be referred to a debt recovery agency or small claims court, and additional recovery costs may be applied.
By paying the deposit for your media wall installation, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
